Day 5, April 24, 2014

Due to a late dinner at a historic restaurant in Winslow, and the effects of 5 days of riding, I'm going to forego writing today and will try to do a double entry tomorrow.
We had success downloading pictures from my camera (I'm the more prolific photographer) to Dave's  computer.  We're one step closer to getting pictures uploaded to the Blog, stay tuned.
Day 6 out of Winslow will be a long one, over 130 miles, mostly riding on the berm of Interstate 40, BORING!!  The only good news is winds are forecast to be blowing from the West/SW at 25 knots; if that holds true, we should be able to make good time.

  1. The trouble with your tour is you don't have time to see anything; the area you were passing through the past few days was Mexico until1848 traty. Which incidently directly led to cinco de Mayo. Wickenburg is the location of Vulture mine. ;more than $35 million in gold came from this mine. Now it is dude ranch capital of the world. Cottonwood ,poulaton 9000 ; 1/2 percent black, 11/2 % indian. Thats all that has happened there in past 100 years

  2. You went through the petrified forsest. I was there when I was 14 years old. Some of Moms jewelry was petrified wood that she bought on that trip.
